Human is an important asset of a company. They are unique one. To optimize such asset and in order to boost company performance, it is important to put the right person on the right place, based on their respective competencies. Effective Competency Design is a process of defining the key requirements of a position and that a job candidate must possess to deliver successful performance on the job. Effective competency design requires a rigorous description of the issues and challenges of the job as well as its value contribution to the enterprise performance goal. Appropriate selection of the sample of job holders and job stakeholders who will provide the data for use will be necessary to determine the competencies. Basic statistical tools facilitate the formulation of the degree of concurrence in the final elements of the competency profile. Success levels on-the-job will provide validation data about the predictive validity of competency profiles.
Objectives :
In the workshop you will learn about new paradigm and its explanation to manage Competency Based Human Resource Management which participants are expected to :
be able to understand the concept of competency based
have better knowledge of method to formula core competence / generic competencies
have better understanding of system of competency based human resource management and its applications.
Topics:
Value contributions of competency-based initiatives
Types of competency profiles
Levels of competency
Competency profiling flow chart
Content/statistical analysis of competency elements
Applications of competency profiles
Learning Methodology:
Each topic is introduced with a 15-20 minute lecturette. This is followed by a structured learning activity (e.g., case study). Each session is capped by the integration of insight shared by the participants. Concept presentation, job-related case studies, role-plays, structured learning exercises, program designing, group presentation and feedback, plenary sessions and individual consultation.
To earn the seminar-workshop certificate, at the end participants:
Must present a completed competency profile of a given job which is supported with a corresponding logical framework;
Submit an actionable plan for a competency profiling project in a designated unit of their organization.
Target participants :
Human Resource and Line Staff/Supervisors/Managers who have been involved in Human Resource Development. Executives and managers of strategic business units, organization functions, and human resource development professionals and champions.
Requirements:
Participants must bring samples of current competency profiles from a unit/department/job family in their organizations. In the absence of such materials, current job descriptions from a unit/department/job family must be brought to the workshop.
Speaker / Facilitator :
Pungki Purnadi is a HR practitioner, having more than 19 years experience in handling HR matter. He had various experiences regionally and internationally such as with TOTALFINAELF E&P Indonesie, MedcoEnergi, Petronas and some years with international management consultant, handling some HR matters in tobaccos, pulp & paper and cement industries. His background is Petroleum Engineering and Master Human Resource Management. He was the Chairman of Training & Develoment Organization within Oil & Gas Industry (KKSD). As HR practitioners, he is very active to run and facilitating several HR programs.
