Introduction

At their most credible, the HR professional functions as in-house consultant to top management and the entire organization. Therein lies the conundrum many internal consultants face - Who do they really serve? Who should they be serving? Who are they perceived to be serving?
The answers to these questions impact the extent to which effective consultants can build and sustain trust among the different levels of management and the workforce; the scope of services he/she may be asked to provide and the extent to which he/she has access to 'real data'.
Depending on the challenges posed and complexities encountered, HR professionals can be expected to function as 'a pair of hands' and/or advisor, mentor, coach, facilitator and implementer of change initiatives.

This workshop provides fundamental consulting skills to enable people to function effectively as internal consultants.Today's fast-moving, competitive environment requires staff members to assume a different role, that of an internal consultant who partners with clients to help them achieve organizational goals. Two day workshop covers the various roles HR professionals are expected to play, competencies required in gaining entry, building and sustaining trust, mapping, clarifying, negotiating and scoping projects; conducting diagnostic studies, managing expectations and stakeholders' conflicting demands; recommending and selling solutions to clients.
